Mitchell on ABC Country Hour + more

What began as a random phone call from an ABC Radio Central West reporter, who wanted to produce a story about rare sheep breeds, ended up as a media blitz for Mitchell Dickens, 11, of Mimjack Hampshire Down Stud.

ABC Radio Reporter, Emily Middleton, visited our property and interviewed us for the report, which went on to air on NSW Country Hour (July 6, 2026, from the 41.16 mark). 

Soon after, a reporter from ABC Radio Sydney contacted us, wanting to interview Mitchell live on their radio station. He did this that same day, while on his horse at Wellington Pony Club – about to head out on the Cross Country course.

Mitchell says he was a bit nervous from all the media attention but enjoyed the opportunity to talk about the Hampshire Down sheep breed, and Mimjack stud.
